Paul Turner is Vice President for Industry 4.0 Applications & Analytics at Stanley Black & Decker and leads SBD’s global strategy and efforts in leveraging Industry 4.0 applications and advanced analytics to drive operational performance improvements through the digital transformation of manufacturing.
Paul has a breadth of experience across multiple sectors including semiconductor/Hi-Tech; steel; industrial products and the process industries. Paul has spent many years working in manufacturing environments and more recently worked for Ernst & Young LLP (EY) as Director of Smart Manufacturing in Europe where he led the development, sales and deployment of EY’s Smart Factory solution with a specific focus on advanced analytics.
Paul has over 40 publications in the field of advanced analytics which include multiple patents in applied machine learning & artificial intelligence. He has led the development of AI-based software and solutions and is the inventor of the World’s only fully closed-loop multivariable nonlinear dynamic AI-embedded control system for manufacturing that has been successfully deployed on hundreds of plants globally.
Paul earned his MBA from Manchester Alliance Business School (U.K.), he has a PhD in Artificial Intelligence for Process Optimisation from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (U.K.) and a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Liverpool (U.K.)
