Martin Walder has been a prominent member of the Automation community for over 30 years, driving the adoption of the latest robotics & autonomous systems, control and information solutions into manufacturing and process control markets. He has done that both in commercial roles and through involvement with trade associations.
Martin is chair of the Engineering and Machinery Alliance, EAMA, an alliance of independent trade associations in engineering and manufacturing that works with government and others under the slogan ‘helping firms make it in the UK’. He has been chair for the past 10 years and, in this capacity, has spoken at a number of conferences and events to promote the industry and productivity.
As Vice-president Industry UK & Ireland at Schneider Electric, he is currently responsible for Schneider’s EcoStruxure automation offer for Smart Machines and Factories and for the complete Schneider offer, electrical power, building management, IT and automation solutions into the Automotive, Food and Beverage, Lifesciences and Mining, Minerals & Metals segments.
Before Schneider Electric, Martin gained a broad experience in discrete and process control at Honeywell, Rockwell Automation and as MD of ABB Robotics.
